IROP Resources

Nobody likes an IROP because it disrupts our day to day life. This page is dedicated to help provide you with all of the resources that you need to know!

First things first! Check The Flight Cancel Report. This will be your best friend during an IROP. This is the page where it shows you all of the canceled Flights for the day and it will even show you whether or not your flight is canceled even before it appears on your schedule! You can find it frequently updated on EndeavorAirNet on the IFS tab in the Base Operations Box on the lower left side.

CBA 5.I

***5. Scheduling Relief***

a. Line Holders

(1) Rescheduling parameters as outlined in Section 5.H.2. are suspended during the IROP period.

(2) Line holders losing trips or portions thereof must remain at the airport after his/her cancellation(s), and contact Crew Scheduling.

(3) A Flight Attendant shall not be required to remain at the airport, without a specific flight assignment, for longer than one hundred twenty (120) minutes from the time he/she contacts Crew Scheduling or at the termination of his/her originally scheduled trip, whichever occurs sooner.

During an IROP section 5.H.2 is suspended, what does that section say and what does that mean?

2. Line Holder (If you are a Reserve, please scroll down to that section

b. A Flight Attendant on Time Available status will be subject to reassignment during his/her original trip duration and paid pursuant to the Trip Guarantee provisions in Section 18 of this Agreement. (during an IROP you are rescheldable up to the limitations of the FARs)

c. A Flight Attendant who is reassigned during the Time Available period will not have new flying added which would require him/her to report for duty earlier than the originally scheduled report time or be released more than one (1) hour beyond his/her originally scheduled release time. However, a Flight Attendant may be
offered, and elect to accept, an assignment which is earlier than the report time of the originally scheduled trip. (During an IROP you are resheduable and up to the limitations of the FARs)

e. A Flight Attendant who incurs a cancellation shall not be required to remain at the airport, without a specific flight assignment, for a period of no longer than forty-five minutes from the time that he/she is notified of a cancellation by Crew Scheduling. (During an IROP this time is 120min)

f. A Flight Attendant who incurs a cancellation within two (2) hours of his/her original trip release time will be released from Duty if the Company does not have a reassignment for the Flight Attendant at the time he/she is notified of the cancellation.

g. A Flight Attendant may not be rescheduled to complete an overnight, if he/she was not originally scheduled for an overnight. (During an IROP you may be scheduled to an overnight even though you were not originally scheduled overnight)

h. Crew Scheduling will return the Flight Attendant to his/her originally scheduled trip as soon as practicable (This may not happen during an IROP)

b. Reserves

(1) Reserve assignment parameters as outlined in Section 23.A.2.h. are suspended during the IROP period.

(2) A Reserve Flight Attendant, after completing an assignment, will be placed back on reserve status (either home or ready) at the discretion of the Company, up to the limits of the FARS.

During an IROP section 23.A.2.h is suspended. What does this mean?

23.A.2.h is the Order of Assignment. This means that during an IROP, CS does not have to follow the Order of assignment when assigning trips to reserves.

What are your responsibilities as a Reserve in an IROP?

When you complete an assignment, you must call to be released before leaving the airport. CS can release you to rest, release you to home reserve, or have you sit Airport reserve up to the limitations of the FARs.

What are the limitations of the FARs?

The FARs allow for a scheduled 14 hour duty day.

NAF's from Crew Services

NAF (Not Available To Fly) is a placeholder that Crew Services uses. During an IROP, YOUR personal safety is of the utmost importance. If you are unable to get to work safely due to weather, road conditions, etc - simply inform Crew Services by phone or CSAssist Email, that you are unable to safety get to work. Immediately follow up with an email to your Inflight Crew Manager. We have been assured that NO meetings or disciplinary actions will occur if a Flight Attendant gets an NAF during a declared IROP. Atlanta Base Management will convert the NAF to MTE (Missed Trip Excused) and that will take place within a few days after the IROP. Any questions about this, please email Billy Hennessey.

More Important Reminders:

  • Screenshot EVERYTHING

  • Check Rainmaker a few days afterwards to ensure you were pay protected correctly

  • Monitor your NAF's and email your manager to ask for clarification

  • It's easier to Email CSAssist rather than call.

  • Check your API App if you're waiting for a Hotel. It's usually assigned there before FCView

  • FCView is NOT the official Scheduling Tool. Please use FLICA for the most updated schedule changes
